Arnel Mugs

About the Company/Brand:

I haven't been able to find too much information about the company called Arnel's but it seems that they're a American manufacturer of ceramic and pottery molds and blanks that were available to buy from catalogs. They may still be in business as well, I believe they may have been acquired by a company called Macky Ceramic Products, Inc. The items I've seen have mostly included decorative kitchenware and figurines.

Most of the items are marked with the word "arnel's" in lower case on the bottom and sometimes there is a date or other markings. These other markings are in a different font and seem to be added on later - sometimes they are exact dates that are different than the copyright that is next to the arnels mark. This is because they were actually selling the unfinished clay pieces, so other people or companies could later add or change things on the pieces to designate it as their own. For instance, a common use would be at a "make your own" type of company where people would come in to paint and create their own piece of pottery. And the date they created it would be written on the bottom of the piece.
