Taylor Smith Taylor was located in West Virginia in the town of Chester and produced dinnerware for nearly 100 years. The company was founded in 1899 at the Taylor, Smith & Lee Pottery. They grew from less than 50 to more than 500 employees over the years. They produced a wide variety of different types of dinnerware - some of their most well known lines today include the Versatile, Pebbleford, Lu-Ray Pastels and Ever Yours lines. In the beginning, local clay was used but they eventually branched out to use out of state sources for production materials.

It's quite interesting that Anchor Hocking actually bought Taylor Smith Taylor in the 70s and owned it until they ceased production of dinnerware in 1981.
