One of the best ways to do research on mugs is to look at the completed auctions on Ebay. While we've attempted to hand select the keywords for the mug searches, sometimes there might not be as many current auctions for that particular mug type - it seriously varies. It may also be too general (i.e. for character mugs, you might be better off typing in the exact character's name).
