I don’t see as many fired-on black colored milk glass mugs, so I nearly missed this one. These are Federal mugs and have a taller tankard shape with an interesting handle that is also “squarish” instead of tubular as usual. The motifs are the signs of the Zodiac in gold leaf. One side has the actual symbol, while the other side has descriptive text which talks about the sign.

It was rather nice that the one I happened upon just happened to be my own sign, Pisces. Since finding this first one, I’ve seen several more but have left them for others to pick up. Interestingly, they have Fire King Zodiac mugs from Anchor Hocking as well - and those are apparently much more rare (if they are marked with the Fire King stamp on the bottom). I think the Fire King ones in question are the 9 oz. taller mugs. The Federal zodiac mugs are easy to spot from the diagonal handle.
