Hello and welcome to Mad About Mugs!

This website was built for mug collectors. There are no restrictions on what we might post or talk about, although a large portion of the discussion will be about so-called “vintage” or older mugs. We will also talk about newer or everyday usage mugs and post interesting mug-related news. While mugs will be the focus, there may be some teacups, cups, glasses, custard cups and other glassware sneaking in once in awhile.

The site is currently sparse on content - we’ll eventually be adding articles and a mini-reference guide put together from scratch listing some of the more well-known (and unknown) mug makers and companies. Like our other collectible site Pyrex Love, this will be an ongoing work. We’ve found that it’s best to put up information as we go, even if it is incomplete (or even unverified). However, this website will most likely never be a “complete” reference. It is just too much work to create something like that just for fun, especially since there are tons and tons of companies with many mugs each.

We will eventually try to hit most of the major mug manufacturers to some extent. We are also hoping to get some picture and info contributions from other mug collectors. Please contact us if you have something to share.
