I nearly missed this McCoy mug … I had picked it up once because it kind of looked interesting and then put it back after a quick glance at the bottom, thinking that it was a brand new mug. Then a few minutes later I went back because something about the bottom seemed familiar. It turns out it was a very light McCoy stamp on the bottom of this mug, which I believe is the Canyon Mesa style line dating from the 70s. It’s not a very valuable mug, but the first piece of McCoy that we’ve found so we’re happy with that for a dollar.

The bottom of the mug is incised with 1412 McCoy LCC USA Originally, I only was able to recognize the “USA” stamped into the bottom which is why I nearly passed on it. I learned the “LCC” stood for Lancaster Colony Corporation which ran McCoy starting in 1974. They made a large variety of dinnerware items in this Canyon Mesa pattern. I really like the rough finished look of this mug.
